Infact, the film has faced capacity issues on Independence day and that’s the reason why it will make a number below 60 crore.
As per boxofficeindia.com, the single screens were packed today, despite more shows and it has seen a growth in the footfalls from Sunday. This turnout is considered historic and tickets weren’t available for the afternoon shows. ‘OMG 2‘ which is also doing good, has also occupied many shows. Hence, trade now predicts that if ‘Gadar 2’ was a solo release, it would have made around Rs 75 crore just on Independence day. However, due to lack of more shows and theatres being packed, it will end up Rs 55 crore on August 15.
Clearly, the patriotic vibe added to the film’s business. Now what one expects is that the crowds who couldn’t get the tickets today will flock again over the weekend. One expects the film to sustain well over the coming days and continue to have a high number in its second weekend as well. This it also has a chance to become one of the highest grossing movies.
Sunny and the team of ‘Gadar 2’ had a success event in the city and the actor was overwhelmed with the response. He said that he was laughing and crying on evening when ‘Gadar 2’ released as if he was drunk. He laughed and told his father, “Maine daaru nahi peeti.”
‘Gadar2’ is directed by Anil Sharma.
